Subrahmanya Ashtakam also known as Karavalamba Stotram is a popular stotra on God Kartikeya who is also known as Subrahmanya, Kumara, and Murugan.

This beautiful Stotram of 8 stanzas is composed by Guru Adi Shankaracharya, who consolidated the Advaita philosophy.

Anyone can read this Subrahmanya Ashtakam at any time. There are no specific rules about it. However, reading it especially in the early morning (Pratha-kala) is considered to be more effective as it was clearly mentioned in the phalastuti(last paragraph) of this Ashtakam.
